FAQs

What are Vertical Comics? How are they different from traditional comics or webtoons?

Vertical comics are digital comics made for scrolling on phones and tablets. They adapt traditional page-based comics into a smooth, vertical reading flow. Unlike print comics, they show one scene at a time, and unlike webtoons, which are created natively for scrolling, vertical comics are adapted from existing works for modern digital platforms.

Where can you view vertical comics?

You can read vertical comics on almost any device, but they’re designed to look best on mobile phones and tablets. They’re available through major apps and platforms like Apple Books, Kindle, Google Play Books, Webtoon, Tapas, and GlobalComix, where you can scroll smoothly through each story. Many of these platforms also work on desktop browsers, so you can view vertical comics on a PC as well, though the experience is most natural on mobile screens built for continuous scrolling.

What does Digital Paper Production do?

We specialize in adapting traditional comics, manga, and graphic novels into vertical scroll digital editions — the mobile-first format used by Webtoon, Apple Books, Kindle, and more. We handle layout, lettering, and optimization so your story reads beautifully on phones and tablets.

What changes do you make during adaptation?

We reformat your comic for vertical scrolling — adjusting:

  • Panel layout and pacing

  • Lettering and text placement

  • Backgrounds and transitions

We don’t change storylines, characters, or dialogue.
